About Us
The Company
Committed to the responsible development of renewable energy, ScottishPower Renewables has a long and successful track record of building and operating renewable energy projects.
This knowledge and experience is reinforced by the contribution and support from our parent company, Iberdrola, the world's largest wind energy developer, with an installed capacity of over 14,000 megawatts (MW) (as of March 2012).
ScottishPower Renewables is a leader in the UK Renewables industry and was the first developer in the UK to reach 1000MW of installed wind capacity.

The Project Team
The Argyll Array project is headed by Senior Project Manager Ralph Thornton, based in Glasgow. Argyll Array is one of two wind farm projects managed by Ralph. His role in Argyll Array is to manage the project to the planning decision stage, ensuring the technical requirements of building the project are fully considered in the planning application. A Mechanical Engineer specialising in Energy from Strathclyde Uni, Ralph was production engineer for ScottishPower's fleet of operational windfarms before joining the development team in 2001. There he managed planning applications for offshore Round 1 and then offshore Round 2 windfarms.
Also based in Glasgow is Project Manager Rick Campbell, who has responsibility for the grid connection works as well as assisting Ralph in managing aspects of the windfarm through to planning permission stage. He has worked in the renewables industry since leaving university, and has been with ScottishPower Renewables since December 2010. Rick grew up in Sutherland and has a degree in Mathematics with Statistics from the University of York.
The Project Team is assisted by Donnie Campbell, part-time Community Liaison Officer, based in Tiree. His role is to represent the company in Tiree through two-way communication and to generally support the Project Team. Donnie has been a secondary Head Teacher, and held a number of public appointments and voluntary posts. He has recently completed an LLB Honours degree at Strathclyde University.
